The Central Chapter is hosting a day of Energy Education on April 6th.
The location is the Town of Lexington's Municipal Center.
Education begins at 9:00.

The morning session will focus on residential and the afternoon portion will be for the commercial.

The total days training will be worth 6 hours.

Topic: South Carolina Energy Conservation Code: Residential Prescriptive Provisions

This half-day course focuses on the residential prescriptive provisions of the South Carolina Energy Conservation Code.  The course provides the students with:

·         Quantitative context on the role of building energy efficiency in state and national energy consumption statistics including an overview of the economic, environmental and social impacts of building energy use

·         Perspective on the size of the challenge and opportunities regarding improved building performance

·         Understanding of the role of the state energy code in meeting state and national energy policy objectives

·         Knowledge of the residential prescriptive compliance requirements for the SC Energy Conservation Code

·         Photographic examples of code compliant and non-compliant residential constructions

·         Context of how these current code requirements compare to regional and national model energy codes

·         Estimates of costs and savings resulting from improved code compliance
